2021 National Emergency Department Inventory – USA

The 2021 National ED Inventory-USA (NEDI-USA) contains data on 5,585 US EDs for the year 2021, including facility location and annual visit volume. All hospital-based EDs, satellite freestanding EDs (FSEDs), and autonomous FSEDs are included. NEDI-USA was developed by Carlos CamargoAshley Sullivan, and EMNet staff. We compiled the inventory through original data collection and integration of information from a variety of sources (e.g., the American Hospital Association Annual Survey Database, Flex Monitoring Team, and Association of American Medical Colleges). The primary manuscript from the 2001 database was published in Annals of Emergency Medicine (click here for the abstract).
