The Emergency Medicine Network (EMNet) provides the opportunity for new and established investigators to spend research time at the EMNet Coordinating Center (ECC) in Boston. The ECC is based at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
For new investigators, the minimum time at the ECC is two months. For residents and fellows, the block(s) could be counted as either elective time, or outside research time. For established investigators, the minimum time at the ECC is one month.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
New investigators will be expected:
- To assist in current research projects – from design state to implementation to completion
- To develop critical appraisal skills for reading the medical literature
- To develop the analytic and writing skills required for publication of research projects
- Ideally, to design and implement a clinical research project
The final experience is dependent on a variety of factors – most importantly, participant interest! Given the nature of multicenter clinical research, the project would not necessarily have to be completed during the actual visit to Boston.
To learn more about this research opportunity, please contact Dr. Carlos Camargo at emnet@partners.org.
Due to the large volume of inquiries, we are not able to respond to all requests.
If your area of research is not directly related to current EMNet research projects, please do not apply.
