We would like your help with a brief survey of 280 U.S. emergency departments (EDs). This is a follow-up to annual national surveys conducted over the past seven years.
This survey will gather information from ED leaders on 1) basic ED characteristics, and 2) policies related to screening for and addressing adverse social determinants of health. Your response to this survey will be used to perform health services research and to inform ongoing efforts to improve the accessibility and quality of care in the U.S. This study is funded by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Foundation.

Key Terms in the Survey
Annual # of ED visits: per calendar, or fiscal, year 2022.
Has separate pediatric area: a dedicated ED area for children only. Pediatric areas vary and might include a waiting room, triage, diagnosis, and/or treatment area for children only.
Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator(s): physician and/or nurse who manages pediatric care in the ER and educates staff on emergency care for children.
Telehealth Services: the use of technology for remote clinical diagnostic and treatment services.
