3. What data are included in NEDI-USA?

NEDI-USA is a comprehensive database of all non-federal, non-specialty U.S. EDs.

Examples of data included are: ED visit volumes, ED type (hospital-based versus satellite freestanding versus autonomous freestanding), specialty capabilities (e.g., stroke, trauma, and burn center), Critical Access Hospital and academic status, pediatric characteristics (e.g., presence of a pediatric emergency care coordinator), and use of telehealth.
