The NIH Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program was initiated in 2016 with a mission “to enhance the health of children for generations to come.”
In addition to creating a large and diverse national cohort by pooling extant data from approximately 70 pediatric cohorts (including MARC-35 and MARC-43), ECHO also created a new prospective cohort using the ECHO-wide cohort protocol (EWCP). The five EMNet sites in the MARC-43 cohort study recruited >290 families into the EWCP.
